Having lived in Ramsgate all my life, I have seen many changes, both good and bad. The town has many fine qualities to offer all ages: feeling safe is one of the advantages.
When my sons were at school I volunteered to teach road safety in the primary schools and playgroups of Thanet. We were called "The Tufty club" and you may well have been one of those children, it was a truly wonderful time.
Many years later I worked in Cardiac Counselling for the NHS under the "Health Promotion" scheme. Prevention is better than cure was the idea behind this initiative. It was a very rewarding profession and I loved my work. The Health Promotion bus covered all of East Kent and it was a great way to meet and interact with the public.
