Viking Ward

A resident of Broadstairs and St. Peter’s since 1964, Cllr Mavanne (Mave) Saunders is passionate about her Town and well known for the excellent work she does as a member of many clubs, societies and voluntary organisations. She is also an enthusiastic fundraiser and supporter of the many events that take place .

Married with two adult children and six grandchildren who all live locally, she believes that this gives her an insight into the concerns and aspirations of the residents, not only of Viking Ward (Broadstairs) which she represents as a Town and District Councillor, but also the wider community.

Mave entered local politics in 2007, because she cares passionately about her Town and believes that she can contribute and make a difference for the residents by listening, supporting and actioning their concerns with both energy and commitment.

She had the privilege of serving as the Broadstairs & St. Peter’s Town Mayor for the Civic Year 2009 – 2010, an honour that gave her the opportunity to represent and promote the beautiful town of Broadstairs throughout the County of Kent and beyond.
